Baton Rouge Behavioral Hospital’s Adult Psychiatric Services Program provides intensive treatment for individuals dealing with medical, emotional and mental illness. We provide care in a friendly, comfortable setting where patients can focus on their recovery.
Under the supervision of a psychiatric team made up of a psychiatrist, social workers, therapists, nurses and other unit staff, we help patients identify the sources of their psychological issues that are impairing their ability to function. The treatment is intensive and therapeutically focused, aimed at moving the individual from an inpatient setting to partial hospitalization or outpatient therapy as quickly as possible.
Baton Rouge Behavioral Hospital’s Adult Program provides the highest quality assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment for adults with acute mental health issues that require inpatient or partial hospitalization. Treatment is provided for our patients with kindness, empathy, dignity, and respect at all levels in the continuum of care. We do all of this to maximize the individual’s ability to foster their own mental and emotional health.
Before a patient begins treatment, several assessments are conducted to evaluate the patient’s physical, social and emotional health. The assessments help determine the appropriate level of care, which may be inpatient or partial hospitalization treatment.
Planning for discharge, be it a return to a home environment or an alternate living arrangement, begins on the day of admission. Social workers and the treatment team, with the input and assistance of family members help to make the transition to community living a safe and seamless experience.
